Counter Replevin
This bond is posted by the defendant before a court order, called a replevin writ, can be finalized. This court order allows the defendant to keep goods which the court finds have been legally taken or retained. The bond is usually in the amount of the goods in question, and it gives reassurance to the court and the parties that if the order is overturned on appeal the property value will be paid to the correct party.
